Xeomin® for TMJ & Jaw Tension  

TMJ disorders can cause jaw pain, headaches, facial tension, teeth grinding, and discomfort while chewing. While treatments such as night guards, physical therapy, and medications may help, Xeomin® injections offer another minimally invasive option for patients whose symptoms are related to overactive jaw muscles.  

Xeomin is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. It works by temporarily reducing excessive muscle activity.  

For TMJ-related symptoms, Xeomin may be injected into muscles such as the masseter and temporalis, which are heavily involved in clenching, grinding, and chewing. Relaxing these  muscles may help decrease jaw tension and associated discomfort.  

Xeomin treatment may help:

Unlike some other botulinum toxin formulations, Xeomin contains botulinum toxin type A without complexing proteins. Treatment can also be customized based on your symptoms, muscle activity, and individual anatomy.
